SPACE
I tried to fit these pictures into other categories, but they deserve a place of their own.
The Moon has always fascinated me. Watching it go through its cycle every month reminds us that we are on a cosmic trip that definitely revolves are time and cycles. Just like life has its own cycles.
And Space Travel has been a fixture in my life since I was born. I am of the age...or generation that has seen space flight go from Sputnik to SpaceX and everything in between. Being a Southern California native, I always felt a bit gipped that we never got to see any of the launches...Mercury, Gemini, Apollo, or the Shuttle...since they all took off from Florida. Most of the equipment was built here in So Cal yet we never got to see it sent into the heavens.
We lived in the San Fernando Valley and they built the massive rocket motors for the Apollo Saturn 5 rocket in Woodland Hills. Every couple of weeks they would test fire one at the Santa Suzanna Test site. The roar of the motor would reverberate through the valley.
Well now we have SpaceX launching from Vandenberg...and it is glorious!
I usually don't add descriptions but I'm making exceptions for the SpaceX images.
